PUBG Update 31.1 Rewind: Clan Loot, Muzzle Brake Mayhem, and Ranked Roulette

PUBG Update 31.1 patch notes highlight Clan system upgrades and Ranked map rotations, offering players fresh rewards and strategic gameplay.

Some patch notes read like a legal document; others, like Update 31.1, read like a treasure map for loot goblins. The Clan system got a shot of adrenaline, Ranked rotations got shuffled like a deck of cards, and a brand-new Muzzle Brake swaggered into the attachment meta. Even in 2026, the patch remains a classic case study in giving players more toys and more reasons to argue in the group chat.

Ranked Map Roulette

The devs doubled down on linking esports and everyday matches. Season 31 gave Rondo a 20% probability, replacing Vikendi after the PUBG Nations Cup 2024 placed Rondo in the spotlight. Deston, the prodigal son, returned to Ranked at 10%, while Erangel and Miramar held down the fort at 25% each. Taego also snagged 20%.

Map Probability
Erangel 25%
Miramar 25%
Taego 20%
Rondo 20%
Deston 10%

PC players could expect the next rotation every Wednesday at 2 AM UTC, while Console players had to wait for Thursday at 7 AM UTC. For Deston rotations, each map had a 20% probability; in weeks 2 and 4, fixed and favored maps each got 22%, and the rest sat at 11%. The map service for Ranked is updated season-by-season, so nobody should get too comfortable.

Clan System: Loot Goblins, Unite

The Clan system received the kind of glow-up that makes group chats light up. Weekly Clan Challenges and individual Clan Member Missions now feed a new Clan Supply Airplane. Completing co-op challenges awards Gauge Points, which determine the Supply Airplane Class from D all the way up to S. Five challenges spawn per week, and clearing the current challenge unlocks the next one. Clans with fewer than 20 members get the same targets as a 20-person outfit, so small squads cannot dodge the grind.

Each week, a chunk of Gauge Points gets deducted depending on the plane class, with final scores locked every Wednesday at 02:00 UTC once a Clan member enters the lobby. If a match starts before the lock and ends after another member triggers it, those missions will not count. Translation: do not ghost clanmates at reset.

Clan Member Missions are the solo hustle. Completing one instantly awards a Clan Loot Cache, and the cache's Class matches the Clan Supply Airplane. Five missions appear weekly, unlocking alongside the corresponding Clan Challenge. Clans can score BP, Credits, Imprints, Polymers, and sometimes Schematics or G-COIN from B Class or higher caches. All caches can be opened in the Workshop.

Clan Tokens are the new VIP currency. Reaching each of the five Weekly Clan XP Goals hands out Clan Tokens. Even max-level clans can complete weekly goals but will not accumulate extra level XP. Tokens are used in a Clan Token Exchange, with inventory locked to Clan Master or Manager because someone has to be the responsible one.

Purchasable items include 21 new Clan Tag Plates, a PC-only Sandbox Mode Ticket (1 Day) for custom matches, and Hunter's Chest Tickets that drop loot to three random clan members. Level 3 or higher clans can buy Sandbox Tickets. Non-clan players can join a clan's Sandbox session, so it doubles as a recruitment tool. Clan Name/Tag changes, community links for Discord or QQ, a Clan Member Activity page, and a rejoin cooldown bumped from 24 to 48 hours round out the social overhaul.

Gunplay: The Muzzle Brake Steals the Show

Now for the spicy bit: the new Muzzle Brake. This attachment can hang out on most ARs, DMRs, and some shotguns. It adds +10% vertical recoil control, +10% horizontal recoil control, and a hefty +50% camera shake control while firing. It is available in Normal Match, Ranked, Custom Match, Training Mode, and Team Deathmatch. It also gets a slight ADS speed boost and three new reticles, because why not?

A few familiar attachments also received numeric nudges: vertical recoil control went from +8% to +10%, recoil recovery after a single shot jumped from 0% to +10%, horizontal recoil control climbed from +20% to +25%, muzzle rise control dropped from +20% to +10%, and initial shot recoil control fell from +40% to +30%. Other minor buffs moved vertical and horizontal recoil control from +5% to +10%, while some sway control descriptions got renamed to better match their actual behavior.

The devs noted that attachment use had been dominated by one or two meta picks, driven by performance rather than personal preference. With the new Muzzle Brake and tweaks to underused attachments, the goal was to give players more options based on situation, skill level, and taste.

Ranked Rewards and Fine Print

Ranked Season 31 brought permanent Mk14 weapon skins as tier rewards. Top 500 rewards went to players at Master tier and above. Seasonal rewards vanish after the season, but the weapon skin and Medal stay forever. Players can check their previous season final tier on the Career page after the leaderboard reset.

The RP system improvements from the Ranked Revamp dev letter were delayed to a future update rather than Season 31. The Smoke Grenade icon now reflects the equipped skin, and the Throwables category on the customization page became Consumables.

Bug Fixes Worth a Nod

The patch also swept up a pile of gremlins: the Self-AED squad wipe bug, missing placement points in Win Streak Showdown, the Beryl M762 missing iron sight, P90 scope shading, and even a rogue typo on the Not in the Mood Jacket. Cosmetic clipping issues, such as female characters turning transparent in certain outfits, also got fixed. Finally, the Liana map selection probability was aligned with other maps, and daily resets shifted to 2 AM UTC.
